as you said, there are dozens of models that represent abstractions of reality (via special sets of assumptions that approximate realities in different ways). what I refer to, however, is whether those abstractions are even needed, in a world where data (including transformed versions of it), methodologies, internet infrastructures, and storages become abundant. No further refinement of models will ‘sufficiently adapt’ to realities, especially given the complexity and ever-changing nature of those realities.
